Return and Refund Policy

Return & Refund Policy

Last Updated: [2/19/2025]

Thank you for shopping at SLP Alaska (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We strive to provide high-quality safety gear—such as hard hats, fire-resistant clothing (FRC), high-visibility apparel, gloves, and traction devices—to our customers. This Return & Refund Policy (“Policy”) explains how we handle returns, exchanges, and refunds for items purchased through www.slpalaska.com.

Your use of our website or purchase of our products constitutes acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree to the terms outlined below, please do not purchase our products.

1. Eligibility for Returns

  1. Return Request Window
    • All return requests must be initiated within 24-Hours of the delivery date (as indicated by the carrier’s tracking information).
    • Any return requests made after this window will be automatically refused.

  1. Item Condition
    • Returned items must be unworn, unused, and in their original packaging (including tags and accessories).
    • Items must be free from stains, odors, or damage not caused by us.
    • Any signs of alteration or tampering may result in refusal of the return.

  1. Proof of Purchase
    • A valid proof of purchase (such as an order number, receipt, or invoice) is required for every return request.
    • Items returned without proof of purchase may be rejected.

Failure to comply with any of these conditions may lead to a refusal of your return, or a restocking fee of up to 15% of the original purchase price at our discretion.

2. Non-Returnable Items

For safety, hygiene, and regulatory reasons, the following items are non-returnable under any circumstances:

  1. Opened or Used Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): This includes hard hats, gloves, and any safety gear that has been removed from its sealed packaging and/or shows signs of use.
  2. Custom or Personalized Items: Items that have been embroidered, printed, or otherwise customized with your logo, name, or design.
  3. Inner Liners or Undergarments: Any item that directly contacts the skin in a manner that prevents us from reselling it due to hygiene concerns.
  4. Clearance or Final Sale Items: Any item listed as “Clearance,” “Closeout,” or “Final Sale” on our site.

Any returns of these items will be sent back to the customer at their expense or disposed of at our discretion with no refund issued.

3. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)

  1. Contact Us
    • You must contact us to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before sending anything back.
    • Returns without a valid RMA may be refused.

  1. Shipping & Packaging
    • Once we issue an RMA, you are responsible for securely packaging the item. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method and purchasing shipping insurance.
    • We are not liable for items that are lost or damaged in transit.

  1. Return Shipping Costs
    • You are responsible for all return shipping costs unless we shipped the wrong item, or the item arrives defective (see Section 4).
    • Original shipping costs are non-refundable in most cases.

4. Defective or Incorrect Items

  1. Inspection Period
    • Please inspect your items upon delivery. If you believe you have received a defective or incorrect product, contact us within 24-hours of delivery.

  1. Evidence Required
    • We may request photos or videos to validate defects or incorrect shipments before authorizing a return or replacement.

  1. Resolution Options
    • If the item is confirmed to be defective or was shipped in error, we will:
      • Cover return shipping, and
      • Offer either a replacement (if available) or a full refund (including any applicable taxes and original shipping, if applicable).

5. Refunds

  1. Processing Time
    • Upon receiving your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets all return eligibility criteria.
    • Please allow up to 5 business days from the date of receipt to complete the inspection and initiate the refund.

  1. Refund Method
    • Refunds will generally be issued via the original payment method. If the original payment method is unavailable, we may issue store credit or another form of refund at our discretion.

  1. Restocking Fees
    • For returns that are not due to defects or our error, a restocking fee of 15% may apply. This fee helps cover our administrative and inspection costs.

6. Exchanges

We typically do not offer direct exchanges, especially for specialty or safety-related gear. If you need a different size, color, or style:

  1. Initiate a return for the original item according to this Policy.
  2. Place a new order for the desired item.

Any refunds from the returned item will be processed separately (see Section 5).

7. Damaged in Transit

If your order arrives visibly damaged:

  1. Document Damage
    • Take clear photos of the damaged package before opening it and contact the shipping carrier immediately to report the issue.

  1. Notify Us
    • Email or call us with details and photos of the damage.

  1. Resolution
    • We will work with you and the shipping carrier to determine the best course of action, which may include a replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.

8. International Orders (If Applicable)

  1. Customs, Duties & Taxes
    • International customers are responsible for any additional customs fees, duties, or taxes that may apply in their country.

  1. Return Shipping
    • For international returns, you are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item is defective, or we shipped the wrong item.
    • We recommend using a trackable shipping service with insurance.

9. Limitations & Dispute Resolution

  1. Abuse of Policy
    • If we suspect any form of policy abuse, fraud, or repeated returns of non-defective items, we reserve the right to refuse further returns from the customer.

  1. Legal Compliance
    • This Policy does not limit any rights you may have under consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

  1. Governing Law & Venue
    • This Policy and any related disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Alaska. Any legal actions shall be filed in the federal or state courts located in Alaska.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Return & Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. The most recent version will be posted on www.slpalaska.com with the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of our site or services after we make changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
